Sweet Tea Social Club

Sweet Tea Social Club exists to cultivate culturally relevant, welcoming, and joyful spaces that foster community, belonging, and interconnection. By centering queer and BIPOC experiences, we aim to create safe and inclusive environments where people can connect, share information, and celebrate collective joy through events and accessible spaces.

They are currently fundraising for a brick-and-mortar and host pop-ups in venues throughout Winston-Salem.

North Star

North Star LGBTQ+ Community Center has been serving Winston-Salem and surrounding areas since 2013! Our mission is to foster community across intersecting identities through advocacy, compassion, education, and service.

Pride WS

Our mission is to celebrate our culture, honor diversity, inspire engagement, promote inclusion, provide community outreach, and educate our friends, allies, and supporters on equal rights for all.

This is the organization that plans the city’s Pride celebration.

PFLAG Winston-Salem

PFLAG Winston-Salem hosts monthly support group meetings that are confidential and aimed at sharing experiences to help one another cope with LGBTQ+ or related issues, questions, and concerns.  Additionally, PFLAG Winston-Salem hosts educational events, social events, and fundraisers.  We also partner with other community organizations to host special events and workshops.   Stay tuned to our events page, or connect with us via email or on social media to stay informed!

LGBTQ Book Club with Bookmarks

The LGBTQ Book Club with Pride Winston-Salem is a public book club. They meet monthly on Sundays at 6:00 pm in the Bookmarks bookstore.

Queer Romance Readers Bookclub with Bookmarks

This book club is for those interested in queer romance. They meet every Thursday in the Bookmarks breezeway and chat about the book of the month.

Out at the Movies

OUT at the Movies International Film Festival is committed to celebrating the finest LGBTQ+ film from around the world, and building a stronger community in the process. Founded in Winston-Salem in 2004, OUT at the Movies has served the LGBTQ+ community and its allies through film screenings and events.
